This heritage structure about 200 years old was originally called the “Thekke Veliyalikkal Warrier” which meant it housed the warrier community.
With a build up area of 2152 square feet It is spread over 9000 square feet.
The structure is a classic Kerala style called the “Nalukettu”. Nalukettu is a traditional name of old Tharavadu (Ancestral name) where many generations of matrilineal family lived. In simple terms it just means a residence with one inner courtyard. It was ibuilt according to the science of architecture “Kumara Thachusastra “ otherwise called “Vasthu”.
